In June 2019, a homicide case in Taiwan sparked off debate on
the amendment of the Extradition Bill, which eventually led to
the Summer of Liberty in Hong Kong, one of the most long-lasting
pro-democratic movements in the city's history.
The local Government, backed by the Chinese Community Party,
responded to the demand for democracy with authoritarianism,
Police brutality, and gangster-led assault on peaceful protesters.
Over the past 6 months, the resilient citizens demonstrated to the
world the quality of the civil participation in Hong Kong but also
their determination for liberty and democracy through flash-mob
street protests, mass assembly, but also with campaign songs, aesthetic posters on Lennon Wall around cities.
